Answer the following questions in no less than 300 words but no greater than 1000 words put together...
Character's background (their past and present):
Judith was born and raised in New York, NY. She was a normal child of normal parents, and her family certainly never told any ridiculous stories about her heritage. When Rassendylls tell ridiculous stories about family history, younger Rassendylls end up having swashbuckling adventures in the tiny Central European country of Ruritania. So the past couple of generations had made a point of not talking about what Judith's great-great-great-great uncle did, much less his great-grandmother before him. Judith's bedtime stories were rarely about princesses at all -- more often about sports stars.
After all, it wasn't like all those distant cousins could possibly die out and make anyone come calling for the Rassendylls.

So Judith had absolutely no idea why, one cool spring night when she was running in Central Park, she was kidnapped and thrown into a giant pinball machine. She was just a normal college athlete. She was absolutely nobody important at all, so why on Earth did anybody hire an assassin (particularly one who called himself Arcade and had some really grandiose approaches to video-gaming) to kill her? A series of daring rescues from a fuzzy blue mutant superhero later, she had her answer when she was met in her apartment by a member of the Ruritanian National Guard. Judith was left in a position of taking over the tiny, stratified Central European country -- and dragging it kicking and screaming into the 20th century on the way to the 21st.

Reforming marriage laws and pushing for a re-apportionment of taxes -- while wearing lots of pearls and velvet -- wasn't what she expected to do with her life, but it's important. She even agreed to a very uncomfortable arranged marriage herself, but when it was interrupted by a superhero fight, certain treaties got renegotiated. Still, no one can say she didn't try to do right by the people she never even knew were her people until she was 21.

Character's personality: Judith will always think of herself as perfectly normal. She's a former cross-country athlete who likes to keep in shape even if, in Ruritania, she has a security detail surrounding her all the way through every run and is barely ever allowed a marathon. The chafing at her gilded cage only comes in short-lived bursts. She has no particular interest in excitement outside of good exercise, generally reverting to a baseline of "What Is Wrong With You People?" among the more extreme types of adrenaline junkies, fond though she may be of the people themselves.
Judith has nothing but contempt for the majority of her ancestors -- well, the ones who tended to win the wars and survive the intrigue, anyway. There is so much misguided bravado and downright fascism in her family tree -- and in all the aristocrats they left behind -- she could scream. Occasionally she has, into elaborate red velvet pillows in the royal bedchamber.
Judith is a practicing Catholic, albeit taking some very non-traditional interpretation to the spiritual practices. She insisted on finishing her degree in psychology because That Is What You're Supposed to Do.

Character's skills/abilities/powers: Judith is an athletic but entirely baseline and squishy human. She is trained in diplomacy and politics in an on-the-job manner and has an undergraduate degree in psychology.
Any special equipment your character is bringing along? This includes weaponry, magic items, etc.:None
Are you bringing your character to [community profile] ten_fwd from another game? If you are, which game?:No

Why do you want to play this character in Ten Forward, and what do you plan to do with them? Marvel Comics dropped her story before they should have. I like Judith and her frustration with the sudden weirdness around her. Ten Forward should provide plenty of weirdness to frustrate her and let her illustrate that she can carry on without having to keep calm, thank you very much, and where are her running shoes? I'd like her to basically be an observant squishy-workout-buddy for strange and sundry denizens of the Enterprise.

Writing Sample #1:
Okay. When I first showed up in this country, the marriage laws were literally out of the 16th century. Now we've not only gotten rid of the patriarchal and morganatic crap, we also have full marriage equality. Yes, that's right, we're ahead of more than half the states in America. And you know why? Because people take it very seriously that I physically resemble ancestors who were the biggest jerks in the room, and I am willing to exploit the heck out of that. The aristocracy has managed to act like it's the pre-industrial era for way too long; I use whatever I can against them.
Writing Sample #2 (optional):
Well terriffic. Now I have no idea where I am, except possibly 'space.' I don't even have the luxury of thinking I'm delusional, since I know there's too much weird stuff out there. In a way, though, I guess it's a weight off my shoulders. I'm a nobody again. Here's hoping the prime minister stays on message until such time as I negotiate going back or get dashingly rescued again.

This is Judith. I'm sleeping, showering, or running in a way that I can only hope is not for my life right now. Please leave a message.
